Asymmetric Enclosures; The Break Box

When people ask why we make so many asymmetric enclosures, I usually say “Because we can!”

But that’s avoiding the full reasoning behind it.

True, all our enclosures are custom-designed and made, so we can do it relatively easily, but it’s actually to do with the sound of the pedals.

Our vision is to inspire guitarists to play more - to write more songs, more riffs, or just keep playing, and we see creating distinctive new sounds as a big part of this.

And a distinctive new enclosure is in harmony with this aim.

For example, our Break Box pedal is a unique thing; a powerful distortion sound - with a fading-up chorus effect to give active sustain, and a ‘vinyl scratch’ facility. The rolled edge at the bottom of the enclosure hints at a desktop/turntable aspect, but also keeps that bottom edge extremely low - extra easy to slide your foot onto the turntable pad to activate the scratch.

However, check out how the pad side of the enclosure just pushes out a little bit more towards you, enticing you to use it…
